When I joined Cebu Blogging Community or CBC, my expectations were actually low. I just wanted to meet people who love blogging as much as I do. I did not realize that I could make a lot of friends in CBC. Jeph Flores, the blogger behind Kiat Cebu, became a good friend along with Chanel Imperial who owns this lovely blog. We actually call ourselves CBKS or Cebu Blogging Kaon Society. Jeph is going to have a transfer of residence soon and I felt a bit sad that he will be leaving. We have been to several events together and I always enjoy his company. It is just proper that I will devote this guest #TBT post to my happy memories with Jeph.
My 10 Happy Memories With Jeph Flores
The First Event Together
The first time I really met my CBKS buddies was in the F Café and Bar Event. Jeph and Chanel have been close, but I am more of an outsider of the group being one of the newcomers at CBC. It was a fun night of tasting several dishes by F Café and Bar. After the event, the group went to a karaoke place where Keene Tan and Jeph showed off their vocal prowess while Chanel was just content in listening. Me? I was more of in between.
The birth of CBKS
The “CBKS” trio happened when the group was together again in another event. This time, it was the Breakfast Buffet at Halo Restaurant at the St. Mark’s Hotel. It was the first time Me, Channel, and Jeph really hang out together. While joking around about the different blog groups in Cebu, we fantasized with starting a new one and calling it CBKS. We went to Tazza Café then visited DJ Angeli at Oomph Radio.
Tuslob Buwa at Azul Surf
Jeph and I joined some of our fellow bloggers in the Tuslob Buwa demo of Powerspoonz’ Yannix Sekong. It was a mega food trip with Thadz, JL, Rose, Lyza, and Christy.
Winning With Lenovo
I cannot forget the Lenovo event because Jeph was very lucky that day. He won a brand new Lenovo Vibe Shot. He somehow shared his luck with me as we teamed up along with 4 other media people to win the Team Photo contest. Our group won 14,000 pesos and I went hope 2,500 pesos richer.
Jpark 6th Anniversary
The Jpark at 6 Party was another happy memory that Channel, Jeph, and I shared. On that night, we all won a day use with buffet gift certificates at JPark Resort. We really had a blast posting pictures in social media about the event.
The CBKS trio was at the Globe Media Excellence Awards. We stayed at the event even after the event was finished. Jeph and I took a lot of giveaways by trying out the booths of the different Globe products.
Dinner with Tommy O
The CBKS trio was once again complete during the dinner with the family of Cebu City Ex-Mayor Tommy Osmeña. We learned together the special creamed spinach recipe of Tommy O and we feasted on many other delicious dishes. We learned a lot that night after spending a few hours talking to a visionary.
Jeph, Thadz of Wonderful Cebu Blog, Brennan of Baktin Corporation, and I were invited to have a wine tasting at Planet Grapes Cebu. We enjoyed wine together while feasting on Filipino street food served at a posh restaurant.
Dinner with Jericho at Kuya J Restaurant
Jericho Rosales was introduced as the newest endorser of Kuya J Restaurant. Jeph, Brennan and I had a wonderful dinner featuring Kuya J favorites like Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, and Crispy Catfish. After the event, Jeph and I went to the Pop District Bazaar.
Kanding at Rex Kandingan
I cannot forget the last time that Channel, Jeph, and I had a food trip together. We drove to Talisay to eat a goat head dish or caldereta. It was the day that I learned that Jeph is actually is going somewhere very far. I felt sad at first then I felt good because I know that I have a place to stay when I visit that faraway place. Eating with Channel and Jeph will always bring about happy feelings. There have been a lot of happy memories forged in our food trips and café tambays together.
Jeph will be leaving soon, but I am sure that CBKS will meet again to create more happy memories together. Bon Voyage, Jeph!!!!;)
